Graduated from The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA), Wong furthered his studies in France and the United States. He has performed as a soloist, chamber and orchestral musician in different countries, with orchestras and ensembles including HKBDA Band Directors Wind Orchestra, NAFA New Music Ensemble, West Virginia University Symphony Orchestra, and Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra. He actively promotes contemporary music and has premiered over 50 music pieces dedicated to him.

Wong is also passionate in teaching, and currently serves as a faculty member at HKAPA, The University of Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Baptist University. He has been invited to give masterclasses and serve as a jury member of international music competitions in Europe and Asia.
