Tina Karen Lo

A native of Hong Kong, Lo studied the guitar under George Sakellariou at the San Domenico School in California. She then studied at the University of Southern California under Pepe Romero, James Smith, Tom Gaab, among others. After winning Second Prize in the American String Teachers Association Guitar Competition in 1984, she furthered her studies in Spain, Italy, Austria and Germany.

Lo returned to Hong Kong in 1985 and has been teaching at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and The Chinese University of Hong Kong since then. She is an active soloist and chamber musician, and has made appearances at the Hong Kong Arts Festival, the Gala Concert for the opening of the Hong Kong Cultural Centre, French May Arts Festival and the “Women and the Guitar” concert series for the 70th anniversary of the American Guitar Society.
