Bassoonist and saxophonist, Ran is a National First Class Performer, a member of Chinese Musicians Association, and a director of China Bassoon Society, Guangdong Musicians Association, Guangdong Province Institute of Music and Guangdong Music Education Association. In 1999, he obtained a Master’s degree and was admitted to Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra. He currently serves as the associate principal bassoon and has performed with the orchestra at renowned concert halls worldwide.

Ran has been an adjudicator of the Wind Instruments and Percussion Competition in South China, the 38^th Macao Young Musicians Competition, the 12^th Asia International Arts Competition. Committed to promoting music education and wind music, he founded the ensemble Whisper Bassoon in 2021 to promote the bassoon through concerts and social platforms.
