Pang is a National First Class Performer, the vice-president of Shanghai Flute Association, the director of the Wind Music Society of Shanghai Musician Association, a council member of Asia Flutists Federation, as well as a member of China Association for Symphonic Bands and Ensembles, Shanghai Musician Association and Shanghai Film Association. He was the principal flute, orchestra manager and programme director of the Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra. He has compiled and translated The Finest Etudes for Flute and co-edited Classics of Flute with Tan Mizi.
