Kuang Yi-wen

Kuang studied harp performance, harp education and piano education at the Academy of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. She graduated with distinction in 1997, and gained a double Master’s degree in Harp Performance and Harp Education. She then furthered her studies at the University of Music Wuerzburg and obtained a Meisterklasse Diplom in Harp Performance. During her stay in Europe, she won several international competitions. She was the Principal Harp of the orchestra of the Landestheater Coburg, as well as the Acting Principal Harp of the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra and the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2004, she performed Mozart’s Concerto for Harp and Flute with Robert Langevin, Principal Flute of the New York Philharmonic. Kuang currently teaches at the Taipei University of the Arts and the Tainan University of the Arts, is a member of the Kaohsiung Symphony Orchestra, and a guest musician of the Macao Orchestra. She performs as a soloist around the world and gives regular concert tours.
