A winner of the Los Angeles International Bicentennial Liszt Competition in 2010, Hsu obtained his Master’s degree from The Juilliard School, and received training at Royal Academy of Music, the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and Rutgers University.

In addition to his piano performing career, Hsu appears as a conductor, composer, organist, harpsichordist and repetiteur throughout Asia, Europe and the United States. In 2017, he was elected as an associate of the Royal Academy of Music in recognition for his contribution to the music profession. He has been teaching at the School of Music of The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts since September 2012 and is currently an associate professor.
