Hsu Chien-tai

Hsu has been playing the violin since childhood. In 1990, she went to Austria to study at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and gained a Master’s degree. During this period, she participated in various performances and performed as a soloist. In 2001, she furthered her studies on a full scholarship at the University of Maryland, where she obtained a Doctor of Musical Arts in Violin and served as the principal violin and viola of the university’s symphony orchestra. In 2004, she became a violin professor at the Department of Music of Montgomery College in Maryland.

In 2006, Hsu returned to Taiwan and held several solo recitals. She has actively participated in the performances of the Taipei Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, Taipei Century Symphony Orchestra, Pro Arte Orchestra Taiwan, YinQi Symphony Orchestra & Chorus, among others. Currently, she teaches at the Department of Music of Taiwan Normal University, Taiwan University of Arts and the University of Taipei.
