Fu started to play the violin at the age of six, then studied the viola on a full scholarship at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music under Shen Xidi, Liu Nian and Lan Hancheng, and obtained a Master’s degree with distinction.

She has performed with the Shanghai Conservatory Symphony Orchestra and Asian Youth Orchestra, and with world-famous conductors including Sir Simon Rattle, Seiji Ozawa, Christoph Eschenbach, Heinrich Schiff and Mikhail Pletnev. She has appeared with soloists Kolja Blacher, Lang Lang and Anne-Sophie Mutter at the Young Euro Classic and the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival. She has gained much experience touring Italy, Denmark, Russia, the Republic of Lithuania and the Republic of Armenia. Fu has been a viola player at the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra since 2011.
