A National Second Class Performer, Chen is the operations and training director, wind section leader and principal dizi at the Guangdong National Orchestra, director of the Dizi Society of the China Musicians’ Association, supervisor of the Guangdong Province Nationalities Orchestra Society, and deputy director of the Dizi Professional Committee of the same society.
Following his graduation from the Traditional Chinese Instruments Department of the Xi’An Conservatory of Music, Chen joined the Guangdong National Orchestra in 2004. He has performed with the orchestra in Germany, the United States, Switzerland, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Austria, Japan and Korea, and performs frequently as a soloist. He is a repeat winner of the Guangdong Musicians Association Outstanding Musician Award, and received the Outstanding Performance Award in the 12th Guangdong Arts Festival and was ranked among the Top 10 Rising Performers in the 14th Guangdong Arts Festival.
