Zhang is a professor of the Piano Department of ShenYang Conservatory of Music (SYCM), a director of the Piano Society of the Chinese Musicians Association and a Yamaha artist. She has rich experience in music education, and many of her students have won prizes in national and international piano competitions. She is the former dean of the Piano Department of SYCM, where she provided a better learning platform and more performance opportunities for students, and improved the Conservatory’s piano curriculum.

She regularly serves as a jury member for major piano competitions in Mainland China and Hong Kong, and participates in various performances. She has performed with musicians from different countries, and been invited to give lectures and participate in music festivals in the United States, Japan and Malaysia.
