Chen Dan

Chen is a professor and a supervisor of the Master’s degree programme of the Piano Department of Xinghai Conservatory of Music (XHCM). In 1982, she received a Bachelor’s degree with excellent results from the Piano Department of Shenyang Conservatory of Music. Since 1985, she has worked as an art director at the Orchestral Department of XHCM and participated in many performances. In 1993, she studied the Master’s programme in Piano Performance at the College of Stavanger in Norway and graduated in 1995 with excellent results. Ever since returning to China, she has been teaching piano and compulsory courses at the Piano Department of XHCM.

She has been engaged in piano teaching for more than 30 years. Most of her students have won awards at local and international competitions, and some of them have been admitted to famous conservatories in the United States, Russia, Germany and Australia. Rigorous and delicate in teaching, she is good at inspiring students’ feeling and expression for music, and solving technical problems when playing the piano, especially when playing classical music.
