Wu Zijie

Wu is an associate professor at the Piano Department of Shanghai Conservatory of Music and a former deputy director of the Piano Department of the Music Middle School Affiliated to Shanghai Conservatory of Music. With over 40 years of teaching children to play the piano, he is good at dealing with issues of technical performance, especially regarding dynamics, timbre and the use of pedals. Many of his students have won prizes at piano competitions at home and abroad.
In 2005, he received the 7th Ou Yongxi Outstanding Music Educator Award from the Department of Education, Science and Technology of the Ministry of Culture of the People’s Republic of China. He has also won first and second prizes of Junyuan Award for Outstanding Teacher from the Shanghai Tang Junyuan Education Foundation, and Outstanding Teacher Award at several competitions for young pianists.
