Lou, a National First Class Conductor, graduated from the Piano Department and the Composition and Conducting Department of Shanghai Conservatory of Music (SHCM). Since the 1970s, he has been active in Shanghai as a pianist and conductor. He has worked with the Shanghai Opera House, the Shanghai Ballet and the Shanghai Film Orchestra. He has conducted symphonies and ballets, and conducted orchestras in the recordings of music for films, TV series and different albums.

For more than 20 years, he has been teaching at SHCM as a professor and a supervisor of the Master’s degree programme at the Piano Department. Under his tuition and teaching, his students have solid basic skills and are able to master various styles, winning awards at piano competitions at home and abroad.
