Jin Hanwen

Jin started learning the piano at an early age, under the tutelage of Wu Leyi, Chen Qingfeng, Su Bin and Yang Yunlin. In 2008, he graduated with a Master’s degree in piano performance from Shanghai Conservatory of Music. He then pursued his studies in Germany and obtained Konzertexamen from the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media. After returning to China, he has been engaged in music education and is currently teaching at the Piano Department of Zhejiang Conservatory of Music.
Jin is one of the few Chinese pianists who studies Bach’s music. Fou Ts’ong praised him as “a born musician”, and Bernd Goetzke hailed him as “a Bach expert from China”. He has toured Germany, Austria, Spain, Poland, Japan, and has performed the works of Bach and Rachmaninoff in several cities in China. In 2009, he won the first place at the Schloss Eulenbroich Piano Competition for Young Professionals in Germany.
