A native of Hong Kong, Lo studied music at the University of Southern California under Pepe Romero, James Smith, Tom Gaab, among others. In 1984, she won the second prize in the American String Teachers Association Guitar Competition. Later on, she furthered her studies in Austria, Germany, Spain and Italy.

Lo is an active solo and chamber music performer, and has performed solo recitals in the United States, England, Spain, Thailand and China, and appeared at the Hong Kong Arts Festival, the Gala Concert for the opening of the Hong Kong Cultural Centre, and concert at Government House. She is currently on the faculty of The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Her playing can be heard on her CD Songs & Dance Fantasy.
