Miao is a National First Class Performer, the Director of the Pipa Committee of the China Nationalities Orchestra Society and Chinese Musicians Association, and the Executive Director of the Guangdong Province Nationalities Orchestra Society. She currently teaches and serves as a supervisor of the Master’s degree programme at the Department of Chinese Music of the Xinghai Conservatory of Music.

Miao graduated from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music and was the Principal Pipa of the Guangdong National Orchestra. She is an active performer and has performed in Germany, Switzerland, Poland, South Africa, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, etc. She has given solo recitals and published several albums. In 2016, she founded the Linfeng Pipa Chamber Orchestra which has won in several national pipa competitions.
