Fu studied Chinese Percussion and Western Percussion at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. Upon graduation, he was invited to stay at the Academy to continue his studies on Western Percussion, and is now a part-time percussion lecturer. He has been working actively with various art groups in Hong Kong, and serving as the artistic director in different theatre groups and organisations. He is frequently invited by universities to give talks and workshops on percussion.

Well-versed in both Chinese and Western percussion techniques, Fu has over 20 years of experience in music education and stage performance, and is enthusiastic in promoting percussion in Hong Kong. He is the Artistic and Executive Director of the Four Gig Heads Percussion Group, and the founder and Artistic Director of the Hong Kong Youth Percussion of Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups and the MIHK@4GH.
