Fu Shuimiao

Fu started to play the violin at the age of six, and then studied the viola on a full scholarship at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music under Shen Xidi, Liu Nian and Lan Hancheng.

She has performed with the Symphony Orchestra of Shanghai Conservatory of Music and Asian Youth Orchestra, and with world-famous conductors including Simon Rattle, Seiji Ozawa, Christoph Eschenbach, Heinrich Schiff, Mikhail Pletnev and Herbert Blomstedt. She has appeared with soloists Kolja Blacher, Lang Lang and Anne-Sophie Mutter in the Young Euro Classic and the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival. She has gained much experience performing in different road shows in Italy, Denmark, Russia, Lithuania and Armenia. Fu joined the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra as a fellow of The Robert H. N. Ho Foundation Orchestral Fellowships, and is now employed as a tutti viola player.
