Zhejiang Province is naturally endowed with scenic beauty and ingenious
people
In the cultural treasure that is traditional
Chinese folk art, beauty is created on the basis of modern history and
information while reflecting the thousands of years of culture of the Chinese
people. Folk art is a vital component of a nation's culture, and giving broad
expression to its many gems is a critical task. In this spirit, Lou Kau Mansion
welcomes works from the various traditional folk arts of Anhui province, among
them ink stick sculpture, inkstone carving, calligraphy brush making, collage,
embroidery, miniature sculpture and iron art.
Because these national folk arts fully reflect
China's unique ethnic style and regional characteristics, several have been
included in the inventory of intangible cultural heritage. This exhibition, with
its on-site performances by several renowned folk artists from Anhui province,
further enhances Lou Kau Mansion's reputation as a venue for cultural
activities.
