Zhejiang Province is naturally endowed with scenic beauty and ingenious people

Intangible Cultural Heritage means the practices and manifestations of different ethnic groups’ traditional cultures and cultural spaces. Closely connected to people’s lives and passed down from generation to generation, these cultural legacies include, among others, oral traditions, performing arts, and
traditional arts and crafts, etc.

As one of the cradles of Chinese culture, Shandong Province is home to an extraordinary number and variety of folk arts and crafts, all featuring distinctive regional characteristics.

The current display of folk arts at Lou Kou Mansion features the works of several acclaimed artisans from Shandong Province. In addition, these artists have been invited to bring you live demonstrations of porcelain carving, Gaomi paper-cutting, Langzhuang dough-figurine sculpture, Lu Brocade (lujin), Longshan black pottery, clay pottery, gourd carving and Confucian Kai Wood carving.

This arts show and the practical demonstrations give testimony to the profound range and variety of cultural arts and crafts of Shangdong Province, and also to the fruitful results of the protection of the Intangible Cultural Heritage in China.
