The 21st-Century White Snake with a youthful twist

White Snake, artistically helmed by internationally renowned contemporary Chinese theatre director Lin Zhaohua and directed by National First Class Director Lin Xiyue, interprets the Chinese folktale The Legend of the White Snake in a new style and with the use of multimedia technology. This new production features the three characters, Fahai, White Snake and Xu Xian – representing the three realms of Buddha, spirit and human – in their late teens. Besides the love and demon subduing plots, it also highlights the bewilderments of coming of age and when one starts exploring the world, as well as the insights so gained. Produced by the Lin father-and-son duo and supported by a strong production team, White Snake is a 21st-century folktale about young lives, tailor-made for young audiences.
