Tap Siac Craft Market Thematic Talk—The Dream of Zeng Dejun, the “Father of Tube Radio”

Date of publication: 18/10/2018
Type: Seminar

To enrich local creative practitioners’ experience in creation and marketing, the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) has invited Zeng Dejun, dubbed the “Father of Tube Radio” in Mainland China, to give a talk during the course of the Tap Siac Craft Market. The talk is entitled “Originality of a Radio Lover—Zeng Dejun’s Dream of Radio”, and will be held at the Macao Museum’s Auditorium on 17 November 2018, from 3pm to 5pm, being open to the public’s participation.

Zeng Dejun has been a radio craftsman for over 30 years. As the founder of “Muzen” radios, he was the first person in China to develop tube amplifiers and design high-end tabletop radios. Zeng became fascinated with the beautiful radio sound in his childhood and soon began to develop radios, taking part in each and every step of the creation, from design to selecting materials and final sound quality testing. “Muzen” radios used crowd-funding to become a sales hit and a well known and the most sought-after product amid China’s cultural and creative industries. In this visit to Macao, he will tell his love story with radio and share his insights on successful branding and marketing.

The lecture is open to the general public aged 15 years old or above; interested members of the public may register online via the “Activity Registration System” on IC’s website (www.icm.gov.mo/eform/event/). Online registration is available from 18 October until 5pm on 16 November. Seats are limited and registration will be processed on first-come-first-served basis. For enquiries, please contact Ms. Zhou through the tel. no. 8399 6289 during office hours.
