In order to promote the establishment of virtual exhibitions and provide the public a richer and diversified museum experience, the Macao Museum, under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, launched an online virtual reality (VR) version of the current exhibition “Memory of the Past – Exhibition of the Macao Museum Postcards Collection”. By simply scanning the relevant QR code or logging in to the Macao Museum website, the public can enjoy the 360-degree interactive experience of the thematic exhibition space located on the third floor of the Macao Museum, roam through the exhibition and browse the detailed information of exhibits. Furthermore, the Macao Museum has now reopened all exhibition areas, and all are welcome to visit.

This online VR exhibition offers two distinct interactive experiences with the exhibition hall and its exhibits. The public can enjoy a 360-degree view of the exhibition hall by moving in any direction or zooming in and out by simply touching or dragging their finger on the screen of their device; they can also click on the exhibits to display high-definition photos and captions and view the exhibits in detail. Furthermore, viewers can also watch two incredible films made especially for this exhibition.

By simply scanning the relevant QR code or by logging in to the Macao Museum website, the public can experience the fun of the virtual museum in the “cloud exhibition”. The Cultural Affairs Bureau will continue to actively promote the development of virtual museums, accumulate more online promotional resources, and take advantage of technological means to offer rich and interesting innovative cultural and museum experiences to both residents and tourists.

The Macao Museum has completed the optimization of the exhibition facilities and its annual maintenance, and has reopened all exhibition areas and now welcomes the public.
