Sir Robert Ho Tung Library and Patane Library remain open to the public during renovation

In order to maintain library facilities and improve its reading environment, the Macao Public Library under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau is carrying out renovation works in its branch libraries, namely the Sir Robert Ho Tung Library and the Patane Library. The renovation works are expected to be completed in December this year. During this period, the two libraries will remain open to the public. Certain areas will be closed or certain services will be suspended according to the progress of the projects and some noise may be generated.

The renovation of the Sir Robert Ho Tung Library includes mainly repairs in the Chinese Ancient Books Chamber, located on the second floor of the old building. During the renovation, the new building will remain open to the public as usual, while the visitations to the Chamber will be temporarily suspended. The renovation of the Patane Library mainly involves painting and varnishing on the inner and outer walls as well as the replacement of light switches. During the renovation, the library will remain open to the public as usual but some areas will be temporarily closed according to the progress of the project. The public is advised to follow the instructions of the staff.
