Chinese characters are one of the oldest forms of written language in the world, serving not only as symbols for communication, but also as carriers of the Chinese culture. The talk will explain the structure and origin of Chinese characters, analyse their original form and core structure, and extract interesting allusions to demonstrate the meaning and beauty of Chinese characters.
Chong Chon Fai obtained a Ph.D. in History at Peking University, specializing in ancient Chinese history and cultural history. He is currently responsible for the Chinese Cultural Arts Gallery at Pui Ching Middle School Macau.
