Face Painting Workshop for Parade held Successfully

The Cultural Affairs Bureau organised the ‘Parade through Macao, Latin City’ to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Macao’s handover to China. This year, a special ‘Face Painting Workshop’ was successfully held from 15 to 30 November 2014. After learning the face painting techniques at the workshop, participants served as painting ambassadors on the day of the Parade, colouring the faces of residents and tourists so that they could get involved in the festive atmosphere and enjoy the exciting ‘Parade through Macao, Latin City’.

The ‘Face Painting Workshop for Parade’ was presented by stage makeup artist Sunny Chan Ming-Long, who shared various face painting techniques to enhance the participants’ face painting knowledge. He explained the characteristics of makeup pigments and their usage, the application of the brush and spray pistol, as well as the essentials of painting composition. After the workshop, participants served as painting ambassadors of the Parade and were sent to St. Anthony’s Square, Rua de Sanches de Miranda, St. Lazarus’ Church Square for the ‘Latin Face Painting’ activity held from 3:30pm on 14 December 2014 to paint the faces of all those interested in joining the Parade. The workshop had c. 30 participants who actively learned the techniques and practiced by painting a variety of animal and plant patterns. In just six classes, under the guidance of the instructor, they mastered the basic painting skills.

In addition, the prize game ‘Search for VIVA and enter for your chance to win plane tickets’ is available on the Parade page on Facebook in order to encourage people to seek VIVA before the mystery of space is revealed on 14 December. The game is sponsored by Air Macau, who will give winners roundtrip tickets to a destination of their choice.
