hush! Beach Concerts expands the diversity of the pop music feast

Jointly organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym) and MGM, and co-organised by the Macao Government Tourism Office, the Municipal Affairs Bureau and the Marine and Water Bureau, the “hush! Beach Concerts x Urban Yo~ga Wellfest 2023” will be held from 27 October to 5 November in the Macao Peninsula, Hac Sá Beach and Coloane. In addition to the creative yoga activities, this year’s “hush! Beach Concerts” features a variety of captivating music performances and activities, further expanding the diversity of this pop music feast. Admission to the “hush! Beach Concerts” is free.

Performances by music bands from home and abroad at the coastal areas for two consecutive weekends

Over 50 performance groups from home and abroad will present an exhilarating music “marathon” for two consecutive weekends from 28 October, covering various music genres such as rock music, electronic music, R&B, hip-hop, experimental music and jazz music. On 28 and 29 October, mini-concerts dedicated to various themes by local bands will be held at Largo Eduardo Marques in Coloane; on 2 and 3 November, the special performance “Resound on the Strings” by Japanese guitarist Ichika Nito and the “Upbeat Power Concert” featuring the rising forces in the Macao music scene will be held at Navy Yard No. 2, respectively; on 4 and 5 November, three distinctive stages will be set up at Hac Sá Beach, bringing music aficionados high-quality live performances from home and aboard as well as performances by local children’s bands.

Music Cruise brings land and sea sightseeing tours to a new level

The hush! has once again extended the stage for music performances to the sea and will launch specific sessions of the “Music Cruise” connecting Barra and Coloane at the weekends between 28 October and 5 November, bringing the land and sea sightseeing experience of the “Macau Cruise” to a new artistic level. A number of local musicians in electronic music, jazz and experimental music will take turns to hold mini-music concerts on the sightseeing boats, allowing passengers to immense themselves in music while enjoying a panoramic coastal view of the Macao Peninsula, Taipa, Coloane and Hengqin.

Music aficionados gather at Navy Yard No.  2

Five distinctive workshops and sharing sessions will be held at Navy Yard No. 2 from 27 to 29 October and on 2 November. In the music sharing session “One Jump One Line”, local band SCAMPER will take the audience to embark on their music tour; the “Chord Sonata – Passing On Pictures and Expressing Feelings Workshop” will explain the importance and techniques of chord progression and how to convey feelings and images through music pieces; the “Hop Wave Training Camp” will allow participants to experience rap music in Chinese and techniques in song production; the “Origin - Film Score Workshop” will demonstrate the professional production and recording process of music on-site; Japanese guitarist Ichika Nito will share the timbres and playing techniques of the new music generation in the guitar workshop “Resound on the Strings”.

Enjoy the fun in Hac Sá Beach

In the concerts held from 4 to 5 November, local cultural and creative hush! market, exploration of musical instruments, game booths, hush! products, newly added local art installations and family music parade will also be set up in Hac Sá Beach, allowing the public to enjoy the fun in the grand event. The“Urban Yoga Wellfest” will be held concurrently, where over 40 fitness and workout instructors from all over the world are invited to hold workshops on yoga, fitness and meditation, among others, in the three thematic areas. Participants can select their favourite activities in the areas.

Short video competition “hush! 300 Seconds” is again launched, showcasing the music talent of the public

In order to provide a platform for the public to showcase their music talent, the short video competition “hush! 300 Seconds” will continue to be launched this year.  All interested parties may submit a video of their music or vocal performance, and will be eligible to win fabulous prizes. Registration for the short video competition “hush! 300 Seconds” is currently open. The deadline of submission is at 12 pm on 20 October. All music enthusiasts are welcome to participate.

Admission to the “hush! Beach Concerts” is free, and registration for some performances and activities is available from today through the “Activity Registration” page of the Macao One Account (activity.mo.gov.mo/activity-h5). If the number of registrants exceeds the maximum number of participants, participants will be selected by random draw.
