Big Mouse Kids Drama Group

Established in 2012, the Big Mouse Kids Drama Group is a non-profit art group whose purpose is to cultivate the artistic qualities of children and young people, emphasize creativity and communicate with people of different classes in Macau through drama.

There are already many art groups specialized in the production of different types of children's plays in Macau, but there is a lack of infant and toddler theaters. The group hopes to develop infant and toddler theaters so that children can enjoy theater experience at different stages of growth. At the beginning of 2018, the group invited the artistic director of the Australian Polyglot Theatre Company to teach the “Baby Theater Creative Production Workshop” to create Macau original baby theater “Little Bath Wonders”.

Big Mouse Kids Drama Group has cooperated with different museums and libraries to organize parent-child interactive theaters, and went deeper into different community centers, parks and prisons to organize theater activities to give back to the society, connecting people with unique art forms. In addition to performances, "Happiness Learning" is the teaching purpose of the group. It uses systematic drama training to cultivate children's humanistic and artistic qualities, emphasizing care, feeling and sharing.

This children's musical "Try It Out" is about a girl who is timid and very afraid of failure. A girl who is afraid to speak for fear of saying something wrong; afraid to act for fear of disappointing her family and teachers if things aren't perfect. She, who dared not try anything, is chosen to represent the school in a competition, and suddenly becames the person from whom everything is expected. Anxiety and nervousness leads to a night of insomnia and nightmares, and when she wakes up she sees herself in a different perspective, she meets a "mystery person" and uses memory therapy to think about the past. By re-examining herself from another angle, will she be able to step forward and try to dare?
