Macau Youth Jazz Orchestra

The Macau Jazz Promotion Association was established in 2010 as a non-profit-making organization in Macau, which aims to inherit, promote and develop the Macau jazz culture, provide performing opportunities to local musicians and students, providing high-level performances and activities to highlight Macao's multicultural characteristics and build Macao as a platform for the exchange of jazz in Asia.

The Macau Jazz Orchestra was established in 2018 and is composed of local musicians. It is currently the only jazz band in Macau. The Macao Youth Jazz Orchestra was established in 2020. It consists of local primary and secondary school students and is divided into several groups. The participating category this time is the Little Big Band, which consists of a rhythm section plus six wind instruments. The members are 10 boys from primary and junior high schools in Australia, from schools with different backgrounds. The band trains for no less than 4 hours a week. The first concert was held at the Gangding Theatre in January last year, and the finale performance was held in the HUSH Kids! category in November last year. In order to participate in this performance, the band will prepare a series of big band repertoire with a flavor of blues.
