Ou Ping was Director of the Financial Affairs Department of the Macao Daily News and a respected journalist for over 40 years.

He is the Vice-Chairman of the Members’ Committee of the Photographic Society of Macao and as an accomplished photographer he is also the HON • FPSM and the HON • FBSC of the Hong Kong International Vision Association.

In the early 60’s Ou Ping joined the Photographic Society of Macao. An ardent student of photography, he often accompanied fellow enthusiasts on photographic excursions. In 1967, he was elected as an executive member of the committee. Over the years, his work has been displayed in numerous public exhibitions in Macao and further afield. He has often been invited to be a member of the judging panel for public competitions in Macao and overseas, and in recent years he has frequently travelled abroad to work on creative projects with other photographers.

1969 - 1984 As Chairman of the Photographic Society of Macao, Ou Ping served as the secretariat and honourable chairman of the review commission in addition to assuming other responsibilities.

1980 He participated in the exhibition held by the members of the Photographic Society of Macao organized by the China Photographers Association. The exhibition was mounted in the National Art Museum of China and in 18 provinces and cities throughout China.

1981 Since the launch of the ‘International Exhibition of Photography, Macao’ - held every two years by the Photographic Society of Macao - he has been consistently invited to be a member of the judging panel. He was also invited by the China Photographers Association to visit Beijing as a member of the judging panel for the 1st International (Asia) Photographic Exhibition in Beijing.

1984 Ou planned and organized the photograph exhibition of the Photographic Society of Macao held in Porto, Portugal, here he undertook several creative activities.

1985 He participated in the Hong Kong-Macao Photographic Art Work Exhibition jointly organized by 12 photographic associations from Hong Kong and Macao. The exhibition was mounted at the National Art Museum of China.

2005 The exhibition ‘A Voyage in Time – Photographs of Macao by Ou Ping’ being organized by the Handover Gifts Museum of Macao, a subsidiary of the Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau and a Catalogue of the exhibition published at the same time.
