Arts and Cultural Festival between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries promotes diverse cultural experiences,
building a platform for cultural exchange between China and Portuguese-speaking countries

Under the patronage of the Secretariat for Social Affairs and Culture of the Macao SAR Government, the 3rd “Encounter in Macao - Arts and Cultural Festival between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries”, organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym) and co-organised by the Macao Government Tourism Office, is held from November to December in order to promote the cultural and artistic cooperation and exchange between China and Portuguese-speaking countries. It includes the Lusofonia Festival, the Traditional Music and Dance Performance in the Community, the China and Portuguese-speaking Countries Film Festival, the Annual Arts Exhibition between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries, The Belt and Road Cultural Talk Series - Samba and Dance, and the Taipa Houses 100th Anniversary Activities, and the Festival has presented nearly 100 activities to the public until now. The Annual Arts Exhibition between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries is held until 31 December. All members of the public are welcome to visit.

24th Lusofonia Festival inaugurated presenting the charm of lusophone cultures from 10 to 12 December

Organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) and co-organized by the Macao Government Tourism Office and the Municipal Affairs Bureau, the 24th Lusofonia Festival is be held from 10 to 12 December, at the Taipa Houses, presenting the lusophone cultures to the public. The Festival offers a diversified programme of activities, including music and dance performances, booths, gastronomy and games, allowing residents and tourists to experience the Portuguese customs and feel the Festival’s cheerful atmosphere.

Traditional Music and Dance Performance in the Community in Arts and Cultural Festival between China
and Portuguese-speaking Countries showcases the charm of Portuguese cultures and arts

Organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, the Traditional Music and Dance Performance in the Community, featured in the programme of the 3rd “Encounter in Macao - Arts and Cultural Festival between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries”, will be held on 6 and 7 November (Saturday and Sunday), featuring a total of 8 performances to be presented at 2pm at Largo Eduardo Marques, Coloane, at 3:30pm at Barra Square, at 5pm at Ruins of St. Paul’s, and at 6:30pm in Iao Hon Market Park. The Dance and Singing Group of Fujian Province, originally scheduled to participate in the performance, was unable to visit Macao due to the epidemic prevention and control measures in Mainland China. Local performance groups will continue to present performances to the public and all are welcome to experience the charm of performing arts from Portuguese-speaking countries and feel the festive atmosphere.

opens in November Diversified creations showcase the charm of contemporary art

Organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, the 3rd “Annual Arts Exhibition between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries”, featured in the programme of the 3rd “Encounter in Macao - Arts and Cultural Festival between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries”, will be inaugurated in November, showcasing the diverse manifestations and the cutting-edge development of contemporary visual arts in China and Portuguese-speaking countries, and offering the public a new experience of Chinese and Portuguese arts.

Themed “The Gourmets of Cinema”
the China and Portuguese-speaking Countries Film Festival presents a cinema feast

Organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, with the support of the Galaxy Entertainment Group, the “China and Portuguese-speaking Countries Film Festival”, integrated in the 3rd “Encounter in Macao - Arts and Cultural Festival between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries”, will be held from 12 to 26 November. Themed “The Gourmets of Cinema”, the Film Festival presents 30 outstanding films related to gastronomy. The opening film “This Is Not What I Expected” will be screened on 12 November, at 7:30pm, at the Galaxy Cinemas. The public is welcome to pickup the tickets. The remaining movies will be screened at the Cinematheque.Passion, and the tickets will be on sale from 29 October.

Organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, co-organized by the Macao Government Tourism Office and the Municipal Affairs Bureau, and supported by the Coca-Cola Beverages Co., Ltd. and Rentokil Initial Hong Kong Limited-Macau Branch, the 24th Lusofonia Festival, integrated in the 3rd “Encounter in Macao - Arts and Cultural Festival between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries”, will be held from 10 to 12 December at the Taipa Houses. The Festival has a diversified activities programme, including cultural booths from the local lusophone communities, music and dance performances, gastronomy and games, allowing the public to experience the Portuguese customs and traditions and feel the Festival’s cheerful atmosphere.

3rd“Encounter in Macao - Arts and Cultural Festival between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries”
showcases diverse cultures and promotes exchange

Under the patronage of the Secretariat for Social Affairs and Culture of the Macao SAR Government, organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, and co-organized by the Macao Government Tourism Office, the 3rd “Encounter in Macao - Arts and Cultural Festival between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries” will be held from November to December this year, featuring six highlights, namely the Lusofonia Festival, the Traditional Music and Dance Performance in the Community, the China and Portuguese-speaking Countries Film Festival, the Annual Arts Exhibition between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries, The Belt and Road Cultural Talk Series - Samba and Dance, and the Taipa Houses 100th Anniversary Activities. The Festival not only showcases the diverse cultures of China and Portuguese-speaking Countries, but also implements and deepens the establishment of Macao as a “Cultural Exchange Centre between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries”, offering residents and tourists a unique Sino-Portuguese cultural experience.
