Alter Ego is an exploration of this seminal idea exercised through the expression of contemporary art. Through 6 different exhibitions spread across the city of Macao, it delves deeply into the intricacies of the construction of the self in order to expose the true nature of its relationship with the other, as well as with the outside world in general. Working as a sort of analytical mirror, it takes the viewer on a visually striking journey that also acts as a catalyst for internal introspection and evaluation, resulting in an experience that is as aesthetically rich as it is internally moving.

In Macau, an half hour car journey is a long way and we no longer notice the empty apartments. In Macau, we like to wear Prada and Armani and we mix Giordano hoping no one understands it. In Macau, we love Karaoke but no one can really sing. In Macau, we believe that if we press the lift button more than one time it will be faster. In Macau, we eat chicken feet and egg tarts and we sell beef jerky to the tourists. In Macau, we say “Aiya” every few sentences to express surprise, pain, pleasure or anger.
