Masterclass with the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Company

The dance company of Bill T. Jones, the father of American modern dance, is coming to Macau for the first time.  During the workshop, the instructor will focus on four core values – exploration, musicality, task-based motives and intuition. Join this masterclass to get to know Bill T. Jones’ distinctive body training and postmodern dance techniques, and most importantly, to learn to use your body to perform and engage in social issues.

Date: 29/4 (Saturday)
Time: 3pm-5pm (The Rehearsal room is open to the participants for warm-up from 14:30)
Venue: 2/F rehearsal room at Macau Cultural Centre
Language: English with Cantonese interpretation
Target participants: Dancers of intermediate and advanced levels (Please upload dancing-related experiences in the registration process)

Applications deadline is on 7/4. Accepted applicants will need to submit fees at the Cultural Affairs Bureau.

Instructor

Rena Bulter
RENA BUTLER is a native of Chicago, IL. She has danced with Kyle Abraham/Abraham.In. Motion, David Dorfman Dance, and for Manuel Vignoulle-M/Motions. She began her studies at The Chicago Academy for the Arts, studied overseas at Taipei National University of the Arts, and received her BFA from SUNY Purchase Conservatory of Dance. Her choreographic work has been featured on the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater School's BFA students, The Joffrey Ballet School in New York, in the Young Choreographer's Festival in NYC, and CHTV Stories television program in Switzerland. Rena is a dancer, artistic collaborator, and choreographer based in New York. She is supremely grateful to be a member of the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Company, joining the company in 2013.
