The 20th Macao City Fringe Festival, organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC), will be held from 20 to 31 January. The opening ceremony will be held on 20 January (Wednesday), at 11:30am, at Rotunda de Carlos da Maia, and the participatory exhibition “Art Exhibition for All” will also officially open at 12pm on the same day, offering the public a platform to showcase their creative works. Limited tickets are available for some of the Festival’s programmes and those interested are advised to purchase tickets as soon as possible.

Themed “Everyone is an Artist”, this year’s Fringe Festival features the “Art Exhibition for All”, inviting all members of the public to participate and offering them an opportunity to display their creative works at Rotunda de Carlos da Maia and at the space next to Flower City Park. All interested parties can submit their artworks together with a completed application form at the Cultural Affairs Bureau Building located at Tap Siac Square on 19 January during office hours, or present their artworks at the exhibition sites between 20 and 31 January. Creativity comes first, regardless of forms and themes. An improvisation zone is also available on-site for the public to express their creativity. Application forms can be downloaded from IC’s website or the Fringe Festival’s website. In addition, considering the public’s enthusiastic response, some additional seats will be open for the programme A Step to Theatre: Shelf Life in the series “Crème de la Fringe: On Site” by Tracy Wong, to be held on 22 and 23 January, at 8pm, at the Macao Contemporary Art Center – Navy Yard No.1. Tickets will be available at the Macau Ticketing Network from 10am on 15 January. Those interested are advised to purchase tickets as soon as possible.

The Macao City Fringe Festival is committed to offering diverse innovative programmes, bringing surprises to every corner of the city, thereby promoting art to a wider public and providing a platform for the development of local culture and art as well as creative talent. The programme F’art for U attempts to alter the distance and relationship between the performers and the audience through the delivery of various art performances, spreading an artistic atmosphere in the neighbourhoods. Tickets for the programme F’art for U can be purchased through the mobile application “Aomi”, “WhatsApp” or telephone. For details, please visit www.fart4u.com or the “Fart4U” page on Facebook. With body movements and experiences seen in markets recorded to preserve the market culture, which are then transformed into a workout to improve physical health, Work Inspired Workouts – Macao Market Version features a display of the videos and illustrations of the workout, as well as a live demonstration conducted in the form of a flash mob. The public can also register to join the “Experience Workshop” and the “Workout Together Workshop” to learn the exercises and participate in the programme. “Focus to – Release” Creation Experience will take participants on a surreal journey where they will choose a scent and enter a state of relaxation at the sound of Tibetan bowls. A device is then used to associate the resulting brainwaves with the images that form in relation to the scent, and thereby encourage participants to be aware of their moments of focus and release. Their brainwave artworks will then be exhibited in the form of an urban installation for the public to enjoy.
