3rd Macao Printmaking Triennial extended until May

The “3rd Macao Printmaking Triennial”, organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), has gained wide recognition and support from the public since its inauguration. In order to allow more residents and tourists to appreciate experimental and innovative artworks, the exhibitions at Nostalgic House and Exhibitions Gallery of Taipa Houses will be extended until 19 May and at the Tap Seac Gallery until 31 May.

This edition of the Macao Printmaking Triennial received an enthusiastic response from local and foreign artists, attracting over 1,000 entries. The exhibition features 175 winning and finalist works, allowing the audience to appreciate the diverse aspects of printmaking art from all over the world and to understand new trends and developments in contemporary printmaking. The Gold Prize was awarded to a Polish artist and the Silver and Bronze Prizes were awarded to Thai artists. This year, seven Honourable Mentions were awarded to artists from Italy, the United Kingdom, Thailand, Mainland China and Taiwan. The works entitled “Windows encounter” and “Skyline by fifth floor (I)” by Macao artists Wong Wai I and Loi Chi Fong, respectively, were also selected.
