The 30th Macao Arts Festival (MAF) Outreach Programme features 19 programmes in a total of 30 activities, including talks, workshops, masterclasses, meet-the-artist sessions, accessibility services and movie screenings. Local and foreign artists will provide audiences with an all-round experience in different disciplines beyond the stage, bringing arts close by the public in daily lives.

One of the highlights of the Outreach Programme, the thematic talk “A Cultural Gathering: Globetrotting across Times” invites Hong Kong famous host and writer Cheuk Wan-chi, literary scholar Tang Siu-wa and Macao writer Un Sio San to talk about travel experiences and share the classic literature related to travel, movies and other artistic works, in response to the theme of this edition of the MAF “a tribute to classics”. In “Vertikal Dance Workshop”, participants not only visit the stage setting of the grand opening performance Vertikal, but also have aerial experience with the support of ropes. In “One Day! Ready to Wear”, participants will follow local urban planner Lam Iek Chit to visit the remaining apparel manufacturing factories in Macao, understand the past glory of the industry and learn the basic manufacturing techniques with experienced garment practitioner. One of the founding members and rehearsal director of the internationally renowned dance company Rosas, Fumiyo Ikeda, will hold a dance masterclass and teach participants the distinctive body principles and postmodern dance techniques used in the production.

The MAF has been committed to getting close by the community and deepening the public’s understanding of culture and arts. This edition of the MAF features “Arts Festival Cruising in the City”, bringing a series of acrobatics and stilt performances close by the community and sharing the joy with the public. In addition, school sessions for the shows Wonderland, £¥€$ (LIES) and The Inch-high Samurai,  dedicated for local primary and secondary students, will be presented in the Festival. Interested schools are welcome to register. In order to allow people with visual and hearing impairments to enjoy arts without barriers, arts accessibility services will be made available for the show Ready to Wear and two movie screenings.
