In celebration of the 67th Anniversary of the National Day of the People’s Republic of China, the “Performance to Celebrate the 67th Anniversary of the National Day of the People’s Republic of China”, jointly organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau and the Department of Culture and Education of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macau SAR, and in cooperation with the Sports Bureau, will be held, featuring the “Acrobatic Performance: ‘The Legendary Swordsman’”, performed by the Guangzhou Acrobatic Arts Theatre Co., Ltd. Ticket holders can admit to the venue one hour prior to the performance. Free seating arrangement is adopted on a first-come-first-served basis. .
Tickets were sold out during the promotion period. The performance will be held on 30 September, at 8pm, and 1 October, at 3pm and 8pm, at the Macau Forum, with a duration of 90 minutes. In order to ensure the public’s safety and a smooth performance, Smoking, eating and drinking are prohibited inside the performance venue, as is the possession of considered dangerous such as alcoholic beverages, aerosol sprays, metallic balloons, pets and glass bottles;
The organizer advises the public to use public transportation to and from the Macau Forum. Free parking is available in the parking lot of the Macao Polytechnic Institute (opening hours: from 6:30pm to 10:30pm on 30 September and 1 October; from 1:30pm to 5 pm on 1 October) for ticket holders. Parking spaces are limited and will be available on a first-come-first-served basis; drivers may also park at the public parking lot located at Rua de Malaca. The organizers hope to promote cultural and artistic exchanges between Macao and Mainland China and enhance national affection through this performance, allowing the audience to see the essence of Chinese acrobatics and share the joy of the National Day. The “Acrobatic Performance ‘The Legendary Swordsman’” is an adaptation made by renowned director Shen Chen of the original work by Jin Yong, published by the Publicity Department of Guangzhou Municipal Committee of Chinese Communist Party and the Guangzhou Municipal Bureau of Culture, Broadcasting, Television, Press and Publication. The performance features mainly acrobatics, but also fuses martial arts, dance, theatre and traditional performances from several places in Guangdong province, among other stage arts, revealing the profound sense of justice of the Chinese martial arts chivalry.
