Due to an overwhelming box office demand, the Macao Cultural Centre, under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, will be staging additional shows of Hup and Spot.

Coming from Scotland and the Netherlands, these two shows for babies and preschoolers will be presented in late July and early August included in a series staging over 30 productions for all ages. Tickets for the additional shows will be available from this Thursday, June 16, 2016.

Hup is a piece by Edinburgh based company Starcatchers conceived in association with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra. This program displays a link between nature and music, letting babies relax throughout an intimate, classical music adventure. Kids will discover sounds and shapes in a sonata for two violins, one cello and a very cheeky raccoon who, almost like in a game, challenge the little audience to follow the interaction between musical moods and rhythms. The piece is a creation for new parents willing to expose their 0-24 month babies to an early inspirational world of musical and visual wonders.

Dutch company Theatre Terra is bringing us Spot, an endearing family musical that will hit the stage with an enchanting display of life-size puppets, colourful sets and characters. Based on Eric Hill’s worldwide popular children’s book series Spot the Dog, this introduction to the performing arts is set to the sound of lively songs, simple dialogues and Dutch clog dancing. When puppy Spot takes Helen, the blue hippo, on a visit to the farm, they find out that all animals are gone. The two friends will need all the help they can get to solve the mystery. A show for kids aged 2 and above to watch with their parents.

Tickets for the two additional performances Hup and Spot are on sale from June 16 at CCM’s box office and Macao Ticketing Network outlets, available at various discounts.
