How do we communicate, when words are no longer words?
In Motivations, written characters appear in their purest form, allowing people to correspond and communicate with each other. Transcending cultural boundaries, words in Chinese, Portuguese and other languages all become ideograms, as the audience creates written characters that move of their own accord, as if their creations were alive.
The Macao Arts Festival plays the role of “matchmaker” once again, facilitating the perfect unification of old buildings and new technology. Visit the Ruins of St. Paul’s, an iconic landmark and the most important of Macao’s world heritage sites, where you are invited to use special LED pens to write whatever you wish on the façade, against a backdrop of music. Bring your fresh ideas and add a splash of colour to time-honoured antiquity.
