The origins of Delfins, a Portuguese pop-rock band, lie in three teens learning to play music in a Cascais garage in 1981. They were joined in 1982 by their lead vocalist, Miguel Angelo, and became the Delfins in 1984. Their first album was released in 1987, and they have since released eleven more. They continue to tour and perform on TV and radio and remain popular in Portugal and the Portuguese communities throughout the world. In July 2008 they announced the end of their career as a band and made plans to abandon the stage in 2009, when they will have completed 25 years of music making together. Their last concert is scheduled for the 31st of December in Cascais. Regardless of what is in store for the Delfins, they will always be remembered as a great Portuguese pop-rock band – for having created a great social impact in the past, for being positioned to serve as a reference to future generations and for their particular way of feeling the present.
