Veterans of the Macao International Music Festival, the Austrian choir returns with new offerings of heaven and earth. Purcell, Duruflé and Haydn give the initial musical steps, warming up the voices for a selection from Orff’s Carmina Burana. Polkas and waltzes by Strauss open the way for Austrian folksongs, lilting along with contemporary pop and rock themes by groups like Abba and Queen. Andy Icochea Icochea steers the Vienna Boys Choir over musical waves, dropping anchor in the deep waters of the Austrian tradition.
