Inspired by the music of the famous “Butterfly Lovers” concerto, this ballet interprets freely the sad story of Zhu Yingtai and Liang Shanbo emphasizing the power and the beauty of love between two twin souls as well as feelings of solitude and sadness. The encounter of Yingtai and Shanbo is determined by destiny, but the pressure of their families tears them apart and determines death as the only way out for these eternal lovers.
