Five applications were selected and the selected applicants will be invited to attend the Fair.

To further expand the communication channels for local filmmakers and producers and to explore potential Macao film projects, IC called for submissions of Macao film projects for the Fair. The adjudicating panel selected five Macao film projects for the regional assessment based on the creativity of the story, experience and execution capability of the applicant and the production team, project feasibility and budget rationality. The members of the adjudicating panel included the Secretary-general of the Guangdong Motion Picture Industry Association, Zheng Dawei; Macao film director and producer, Albert Chu and film programmer, Rita Wong.

After the regional assessment, five projects have been selected to enter the Fair: One Night in Macao by Lou Ka Hou, At Least Not Today by Io Lou Ian, Midnight Taxi by Hoi Kuok Meng, Dreaming Girl by Vong Tin Leong and The Fortune Tower by Wong Teng Teng. The selected applicants will be invited to attend the Fair in Macao from 10 to 11 September, where they will be able to meet with film investors and producers from the Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, promote the selected film projects and seek cooperation opportunities.

The Fair has been co-organized by the authorities from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao since 2014. It aims to provide a high-level and convenient communication platform for film investors and producers from the three regions. It not only helps to create opportunities for film investment and cooperation, but also cultivate filmmaking talents, thus boosting the integrated film industry development in the Greater Bay Area. The applicants of the selected film projects will be notified by the Cultural Affairs Bureau in a few days.
