In order carry out more effectively the cultural heritage protection works, encourage the population’s participation and the joint safeguard of cultural heritage, the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym) has launched the platform “Information from the Public about Macao’s Cultural Heritage”, allowing residents to, in a more convenient way, inform IC in a timely manner of the status of heritage buildings.

Macao, boasting a long history and important culture, features several heritage buildings, including 137 classified immovable properties and over 600 buildings spread through different areas of the city. For this reason, IC has set up the platform “Information from the Public about Macao’s Cultural Heritage” so that residents, should they find out any damage to heritage buildings or become aware of any signs that may compromise its preservation, may promptly inform IC of such facts. It is hoped that, by making use of the people’s strength, we are able to protect hand in hand Macao’s cultural heritage.

Residents may notify IC through the platform “Information from the Public about Macao’s Cultural Heritage” (https://www.culturalheritage.mo/cn/report/), by email created for this purpose (chvoice@icm.gov.mo), through the designated hotline (2856 2636), page on Facebook (IC Art) or IC’s WeChat account.

Upon receiving a notice from residents, IC will designate staff members to monitor the situation as well as, after the conclusion of the required assessment, follow the respective works and consolidate the information published on the platform “Information from the Public about Macao’s Cultural Heritage”, making it more convenient for the public to monitor IC’s follow-up works as well as to be informed on the latest status of the relevant heritage buildings.
