Cinematheque‧Passion hosts a talk on film scores with Hong Kong musician

Integrated in the activities of the experimental operation of the Cinematheque ž Passion, a talk entitled “Fusing Sound and Light: Into the World of Film Scores” will be held on 28 November 2015, next Saturday, at 11:30am, in the projection room of the Cinematheque ž Passion. Hong Kong film music composer, Tomy Wai, is invited to host the talk. The talk is open to the public and admission is free. Due to limited seats, interested parties are recommended to register in advance.

In this talk, Tomy Wai will speak about how he started his career in the film industry, and about his experience of working with different directors as well as his career path in film scores. He will also show the audience how to combine sound and light to create a touching effect by using case studies and interactive examples of film scores, in order to explore the world of film scores in greater depth. Tomy Wai has composed scores for over 100 films and series, including New Police Story, Jiang Hu: The Triad Zone, Visible Secret and As the Light Goes Out. Amongst his works, Temptation of a Monk won “Best Original Film Score” both at the Hong Kong Film Awards and Taipei Golden Horse Awards, whilst Gallants earned him “Best Original Film Score” at the 30th Hong Kong Film Awards.  As a lecturer and instructor, Tomy Wai also spares no effort to nurture Hong Kong’s local music talents.

Admission to the above mentioned talk is free and seats are limited.
