2014 marks the 110th anniversary of the birth of Charles Boxer to whom Review of Culture - International Edition dedicates the last issue. Revered by many as one of the greatest historians of the Portuguese expansion, he died in the year 2000; he was 96 years old and left a collection of more than 300 books and articles published.
A handful of authors involved in the task of presenting a set of articles focusing on the historian, drawing a picture of his vast work and focused themes or of his unusual life and career.

Closing the edition, the second module on Chinese classical literature, “The Dimensions of the Canon”, focuses on the interpretation of classical texts that marked the appreciation of orthodox music in the Chinese imperial period.

RC, published by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, is available at the Portuguese Bookstore, Cultural Plaza, Seng Kwong Bookstore, Macao Historical Archives and Kun Iam Ecumenical Centre. It is also available for consultation at the Central Library and the Historical Archive of Macao and at the libraries of Macao universities.
