Promotional Parade Activities in Communities Achieve Notable Results

Date of publication: 12/12/2014
Type: Macau Latin Parade

Organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) the ‘Parade through Macao, Latin City’ marking the 15th anniversary of Macao’s Handover to China will be held soon. In order to publicise activities along the Parade route, the organiser arranged for its staff to visit and distribute pamphlets in several neighbourhoods on 10th December, an initiative that was well received by the population.

IC assigned small groups of staff to distribute pamphlets door to door along the streets of the Parade route, providing information and a map about the Parade as well as information regarding traffic arrangements. Pamphlets were also handed out to students and the elderly, promoting the event among members of different age groups, while tourists also seemed interested and willing to participate in the Parade. Dedicated to the celebration of Macao’s Handover to China, the ‘Parade through Macao, Latin City’ is now in its fourth edition. Eagerly awaited by the population, this annual event - which promotes creativity - has achieved notable results and enjoys a certain reputation as well as the support of both the local population and visitors.

The Parade will be broadcast live by TDM – Teledifusão de Macau S.A., on channels TDM Ou Mun, TDM – with Macau Satellite and Canal Macau broadcasting the event from 4:00pm to 7:00pm, while TDM HD channel will broadcast it from 4:00 to 7:30pm. TVB channel from Hong Kong will broadcast a preview of the Parade during its ‘Scoop’ programme at 7.30pm on 12 December and will broadcast a Parade Special from 4:00pm to 7:30pm on 20 December, taking the celebrations of Macao’s Handover to China even further afield.

Moreover, the organiser prepared a series of souvenirs available in various locations on 14 December. For more information about the event, please visit www.icm.gov.mo/macaoparade.
