Macao Young Musicians Competition

Registration Details

Registration Dates: March 10 to 15, 2011, from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. (including Saturday, Sunday and lunch hour)

Registration Venue: Cultural Events Department of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, Rua do Campo No.78, Edif. Chong Kin 8-A

Registration Fee: MOP50 for each category (Competitors may register for a maximum of 4 competition categories)

Competition Dates: June 18 – July 20, 2011

Competition Categories:  Piano Solo, Piano for Four Hands, Chamber Music for Piano, Harp Solo and Chamber Music for Harp

Eligibility of Competitors: All Macao residents who were born on or after 1990, and hold valid Macao resident ID cards. 

Eligibility of Accompanists: All Macao residents who hold valid Macao resident ID cards (no age limit).

  1. Competitors must complete the enrolment form fully and accurately, and submit it (along with all supporting documents) in person or via a representative, to the registration venue within the registration period specified above;
  2. The Competition Rules and Enrolment Forms might be downloaded from the website of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, accessible at www.icm.gov.mo;
  3. Interested parties might consult the musical scores of the Compulsory Pieces at the Cultural Affairs Bureau at Praça do Tap Seac, from Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. including lunch hour; or at the Macau Central Library (Avenida do Conselheiro Ferreira de Almeida, No 89 A-B), from 10 am to 8 pm daily, Monday through Sunday;
  4. When completing and submitting the Enrolment Form, please note the following: 

    4.1.1  Competitors in Solo categories must complete the Enrolment Form, and must submit the other required documents together with the form;

    4.1.2  Each Competitor in the Piano Four Hands and Chamber Music categories must complete the Enrolment Form, and submit the other required documents together with the form;

4.2  A copy of the front side of each participant’s ID card must be attached to the Enrolment Form in the space provided;

4.3  To save time during the registration process, competitors may opt to submit their enrolment forms as a group. Competitors who choose this option must submit the “Enrolment List for Groups” together with their Enrolment Forms and other required documents. The “Enrolment List for Groups” may be downloaded from the Cultural Affairs Bureau website;

4.4 Competitors must provide a photocopy of the sheet music of their free choice piece (if required in their competition category), clearly marked with the competitor’s full name and competition category;

4.5 Competitors need not submit personal information about their accompanist(s) at the time of registration. However, on the day of the competition, the accompanist must present his or her Macau identity card at the on-site registration venue so that it can be checked against the information on file.
