1. Competitors should perform the piece as written on the musical scores. Should a competitor deviate from or make any changes to the notations on the scores during the performance, the judges will decide whether and how the competitor’s overall score will be affected;
2. Names of compulsory pieces for each competition category can be consulted from the website of the Cultural Affairs Bureau. Interested parties may also access the musical scores of the compulsory pieces at the Cultural Affairs Bureau or the Macao Central Library. For address and office hours, please refer to no. 3 of “Registration Details”;
3. If competitors and accompanists need to use musical scores while performing, they must use an original. The use of photocopied musical scores, or pages or portions of photocopied musical scores attached to an original score, constitutes a violation of the Competition Rules. Competitors found to be in violation of this rule may be disqualified from the competition; they may still be permitted to perform on stage, but the judges will only give them a written assessment. They will not be awarded a score or compete for any prizes;
4. In choosing the free choice piece, competitors should not perform a piece that they have performed in past Competitions. In addition, the same piece may not be used in more than one category;
5. Normally, there is no need to play competition pieces or portions of them more than once. It is not necessary to play the first coda; however, if the musical score is marked da capo (D.C.) or dal segno (D.S.), competitors must play as directed;
6. Competitors must perform the pieces which is the same as the pieces written on the Registration Form. Otherwise, judges will only give a written assessment, but will not award a score;
7. Should a competitor wishes to change his/her free choice piece, s/he must do so on or before 4thMay 2012. No change or substitution will be accepted after that date.
