Genesis and Spirit – Exhibition of Anhui Intangible Cultural Heritage (Cancellation)

The exhibition is divided in four sections: Introductory Foyer, Traditions and Customs, Carving Arts and Four Treasure-Instruments to use in the Studio. Through the means of thematic introduction, heritage display and art and craft demonstrations, the exhibition presents the unique charm of the intangible cultural heritage of Anhui Province and preservation achievements, and showcases the passing on the intangible cultural heritage through heirs and daily life objects.

Genesis and Spirit – Performances of Anhui Intangible Cultural Heritage  (Cancellation)

These performances feature fascinating traditional music, dance, drama and opera from Anhui Province, introducing the region’s folk customs and traditional art to the audience

Genesis and Spirit – Arts and Crafts Demonstrations of Anhui Intangible Cultural Heritage  (Cancellation)

Date: 15 - 20 June 2021
Time: 10:30am – 1pm, 2:30pm – 5pm
Venue: Lou Kau Mansion

Various traditional art and craft demonstrations of Anhui Province will be presented, including the making of Xuan writing brushes, Hui inksticks, She inkstones and Wuhu iron pictures, as well as Huizhou woodcarving, ancient Doumu pottery, Lixin dough sculpting, Zong Clan paper cutting, Wang Clan hand fan making and Dangshan New Year woodcarving.

Heirs of intangible cultural heritage of Anhui Province will teach two types of traditional crafts, namely Wang Clan hand fan making and Huashan paper cutting, allowing participants to experience the exquisite techniques.

Genesis and Spirit – Thematic Talks on Intangible Cultural Heritage  (Cancellation)

Three thematic talks will be presented to share the positive role of the intangible cultural heritage of Mainland China in poverty alleviation, cultural tourism and cultural and creative industries.

“The Importance of Intangible Cultural Heritage and its Role in Poverty Alleviation – A Case Study of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Congjiang County, Guizhou Province of China”
